We have all heard the expression “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. I think that most of us attempt to live by these words. We come in to work on time, clock in and out when we are supposed to, and we do what we have to do to preserve a relationship with the powers that be. After all, they are the ones who hold our jobs in their hands right? They are the hands that feed us right? They are putting food on our table’s right? Well, “yes” and “no.” That maybe the case at this present moment, but that does NOT have to be the case as we head into the future. The hand that feeds us should be our very OWN! In an effort to preserve relationships with our bosses we have neglected ourselves, our abilities, and our gifts. We have been train to depend on food from strangers instead of feeding ourselves.

Just incase you haven't noticed, we are in a recession. The beauty of it all is that "WE" are in a recession together. We must change to a degree with the times. We must not change our core values, but the way in which we carry out those values. DreamU, Inc has change the way it does business to adjust to today's times. DreamU is waving membership fees. WHY? Reason #1 is that extra money is something that is scarce today, and I don't feel that money should separate you from your the DreamU family. Reason #2 is that I believe so firmly in the services we provide that I will make sure you get paid before I get paid. Not Me, Not You, BUT WE!

You Owe It To Yourself

Self-worth is on my mind. I am thinking that we sell ourselves too short sometimes. I think that we owe it to ourselves to learn, to grow, and to succeed. A little research can go a long way. Things nowadays are more accessible to us than we think. I encourage you all to whet your appetite by researching a topic of interest, reading a book, or doing some productive web-surfing. The key to finishing a race isn't being fast or strong. As long as you keep moving you will finish. Sometimes we get frustrated because we have taken on such daunting tasks. A good friend and mentor told me to break goals down into small manageable tasks. Make them "bite-sized" if you will. That way you can finish them relatively easy and gain a sense of victory from checking them off of your list. Starting this blog was one of my "bite-sized" pieces to a bigger picture. A bigger picture that depicts all of us fulfilling our God-given dreams.
No matter what, just keep moving forward. Even if you have to crawl it still counts as forward motion. And any forward motion is something to give yourself a pat on the back for! We will win the war by winning one small victory at a time!

Strength In Numbers

We have tons of websites based on sharing. We can share files, music, movies, and struggles on the web nowadays, but I don't know of too many sites where we can share our dreams, goals, areas of deficiency, and areas of expertise. None of us are an island. We NEED each other to fulfill our dreams. Most of us are one connection, one phone call, or one email away from being able to take our passions to the next level. Well, I am here to get the ball rolling.

I will share my areas of expertise with you. I have a good knowledge of architecture and residential construction. I am gifted in art with an eye for color and overall aesthetics. Perhaps you think that these skills are of no use at all to you and your dreams. That is where you are right and wrong. Friends...Lets clear the air. 2010 may not be going the way that you thought it would. You started the year with a resolution and very high hopes, but perhaps you've had a few bumps and bruises already! I am writing to tell you not to give up on 2010 yet. Do not just dismiss this year as being another year of mediocrity. There is a very popular phrase that i would like you to omit from your thinking. The phrase that says, "It is what it is." This phrase may fit into a conversation quite nicely, but this mentality can be extremely damaging to the fulfilling of your purpose in life. A better phrase is, "It is what you make it to be." Starting now, lets take responsibility for our current state and our future. Lets be proactive in determining the direction our lives will take. NEWSFLASH!!!...WE DO HAVE A SAY IN THIS MATTER!!! Okay, now that you know where I'm coming from lets think about what we love, what drives us, and what we are passionate about.
